The Magic of OZ - Graphic 45 altered shadowbox books

Beautiful shadowbox books created by Julie Tucker-Wolek!

"As soon as I saw the new Graphic 45 'The Magic of OZ' line, I knew I wanted to alter some shadowbox books that I have! Lots and lots of fussy cutting on this project, and I am really happy with the results!" ~~Julie

American Dream

A beautiful layout from Rahel Menig celebrating her life in America!

"For me, an immigrant to the US, July is a very special month. I adore how the Americans love and emphasise their flag! (oh, and I looove the flag too! So pretty and strong at the same time!) That is why I was inspired to make a layout about my American Dream. I wanted to use red white and blue, but still make it very 'me'.
I used some of my very favorite paper, October Afternoon Rocket Age to build up my colors. I LOVE this collection, even tough I don't have a little boy I love to use it. It's so much fun and very versatile too! :D" ~~Rahel
A tip from Rahel: To make sure the title is exactly where I want it to be, I use transparency scraps, stick and stamp my title right on top of it and move it around until I like what I see. Super simple and so effective!

Family Photograph

A beautiful layout by Melissa Mann!
"To create this layout, I cut a square of Kraft paper to 10" x 10". I then cut strips of paper from various pattern papers and adhered them to the square of Kraft paper. Then, I adhered that square of paper to a piece of 12" x 12" white card stock. I stitched down the lengths of each of the pattern papers; I placed my photos down and then cut out a strip of Kraft paper at 11" long and backed it with a piece of red card stock for a little bit of pop!  I stitched those two pieces of paper together and then stamped the small sentiments along the side. My title was placed above the stamped sentiment and then I used pop dots on the back to give a little dimension on the layout. Three circles were punched and placed on the layout and layered with a flower chipboard embellishment. I stamped one more small sentiment and place it in the middle of the layout between the two 4" x 6" pictures." ~~Melissa

My Father's Chair, an altered Prima project

Hi everyone! Julie Tucker-Wolek with you here today and I want to share a chair that belonged to my Father when he was about 3 or 4 years old!
‘“I am going to give a spoiler here and show you WHAT I did with his chair! AKA ... the final result first!
I just love how this turned out! Now let me show you what I started out with and how I turned this....
Into my "new" chair I have shared above
My Dad's chair started off yellow, and along the way someone tried to paint it blue, but never finished it
Now let's see what I did with the chair....
First, I started by spray painting the chair green
Then I got a Prima Mask that I used with white spray paint to create my flowers on the chair
Yep! That is me getting down and dirty with the spray paint!
Now let's see who it turned out with the"masked" flowers on it
I used all Prima goodies on my "new" chair (and some Tattered Angels mists and Tim Holtz distressing ink!)
Prima papers to make my paper flowers-
Now, its time to decorate!
Prima trim around the edges...
Distress ink around the edges of my Prima paper to make my "bouquet" holder!
Making the paper wrap for my "bouquet"
Some Prima buttons to cover the spot that I stapled the paper together!
Now, to put my bouquet together! I put tissue paper in the base of my Prima paper wrap to fill in some of the gaps and have a place to glue my Prima paper flowers too!
Some Prima journal cards to help my title stand out...
These Prima mistable titles are amazing! I love them!
Some of the flowers I made with an added Prima flower!
Almost done!
Here she is!   My final project!
A beautiful Prima butterfly!
A fun Prima birdcage
I truly enjoyed sharing this with you! I hope you enjoyed it also! Thanks so much for stopping by!
~~Julie~~
